【3DPV】:Re – Mikuru396′s Answer to His Vocaloid Classic “Melody…”
This is a song and a 3DPV that deserves a special mention from me, because mikuru396 is the entire reason I’m here right now. So I’ll tell you the story of how I came to be where I am today.
Back in late 2007, a friend of mine in Singapore who now goes by the name of Fuzzy (and one of the owners of kyourankyodai) was often mentioning this odd female character with teal colored twin tails. I didn’t show a whole lot of interest at the time. But then on December 15th, 2007, he linked me to the 3DPV of “Melody…” (or Melody.exe as some call it) from nicovideo on the day it was uploaded.
This was the first Vocaloid video I ever saw.
The first thing that caught my eye was the visuals. It was in a style I had never seen before. But what caught my interest the most was the fact that the Vocals were 100% synthesized. We had tools like Microsoft Sam to make our computers speak, so the fact that there was a program to make your computer sing was quite astonishing.
It was thanks to that song by Mikuru396 that I got involved in Vocaloid when I did. Now fast forward to today, and we have a brand new song by the same artist titled “:Re”. This song was created as the “answer” and successor for his classic “Melody…”. This song… This PV… It’s beautiful. It brings back so many memories of the older days, and it makes me remember when the Vocaloid community was something small and obscure. I’ve had the chance to watch the community blossom to what it is now over the past 4.5 years. Those thoughts, combined with this song, actually made me cry. It was that powerful.
But enough with my own emotions. Let’s move onto the song itself. The track was composed by Mikuru396, and the PV was made by Brother-P.

i`ve seen some retro in the last video the first time i watched. ¿Why? BrotherPV has surpased that level ages ago… but now when you tell the history behind. i beging to understand.
This takes me back. Melody was the first Vocaloid song/PV that I heard/saw as well. It’s still one of my favorite songs and it’s great to see a follow-up to that video. I really enjoyed this PV as well, thanks for posting it!
Do you know anywhere that we can find translated lyrics for this? Melody was my first song too if you don’t count levan polka. It’s such a powerful song, and since this new one is a “sequel” I would really like to know what Miku is saying!

@Torrent: Well, it might not be perfect (wording choice is always a pain when translating), but I’ve done a quick translation for you. I’ve tried to keep it as literal as possible. The line breaks are based on the subtitles in the posted video, so you can try to watch/read them together (good luck).

@Ryu thanks for the subs, im trying to make a vid with the subs in english and spanish from yours if that’s ok?, also anyone understands what the female “operator” says in 4:30? that part is the only thing i cant grasp, please tell me what she says at that time to finish the subs!
@groudon132000: RYU already said his translation is likely very rough and not accurate. I’ve contacted Mikuru396 directly to request a translation from him (or permission to have a friend from Japan translate it for me, permission is always a good idea), and I’m now waiting for a response. Also, the operator says the following lines: “Updating the system settings”, “Updating the voice data”, “Updating the plugin data”, and “updating the control parameters”. Then she says “Start finalization” at 4:42. At 5:00, she says “Finalized Complete, Reboot the System”. Lastly, at 5:06, she says “Code Zero One Update Sequence Complete”.
figured it out after about 100 times hearing those 3 seconds, its PersistenceUtil, no wonder i didn’t understood it at first
