Hatsune Miku has been appointed as the ambassador for the “Cassette Store Day Japan” to be held on October 14th this year. Originating from the UK in 2013, the international annual event “Cassette Store Day” is held in dedication to the classic format of cassette tape.
The key visual filled with street fashion theme and, of course, a cassette tape and a player, comes from MONQ, whom we’re most familiar with as the official illustrator of Magical Mirai 2014. We’re certainly loving the idea behind pairing the world’s digital diva and the good old analog cassette tape together.
Specially announced for this occasion are the “MIKU’s TAPE -10th Anniversary Edition-” and its special counterpart “MIKU’S TAPE -10th- Anniversary Edition Cassette Player Set” to be released on October 14th. Both editions will come with 10 songs from the participating producers and a SONOCA card (setlist below), with the later to come with an exclusive cassette tape player.
The exclusive cassette tape player, decorated with the key visual by MONQ, will come with support for Hi-Fi stereo, auto reverse function, MP3 conversion by USB port, and come included with the software CD. Batteries are supplied via 2 AA batteries or USB port.
The MIKU’s TAPE -10th Anniversary Edition- is priced at 2,500 yen (tax excluded), while the special edition with cassette tape player is priced at 8,500 yen (tax excluded). Also announced today are the official t-shirts (3,200 yen excluding tax), clear file (300 yen excluding tax), and acrylic key holder (1,000 yen excluding tax). Additional details on the sales will follow up at later date.
Previously teased at a booth at Magical Mirai 2017, Chara-Ani has now opened reservations for the Jumbo Fuwafuwa ver. Hatsune Miku plushie, as well as the Hatsune Miku ver. Danbo!
The Jumbo Fuwafuwa is the largest plushie of this style (namingly the SEGA plushies line), and stands at a massive 50cm tall! She’s scheduled to ship November 2017 with a retail of 8,640 Yen, or 6,912 Yen with the limited 20% discount applied (must be logged into Chara-Ani). Reservations will close after October 31st, 2017.
Next is the Hatsune Miku ver. Danbo ver. pose-able figure! It’s 5.3cm tall, and has 360-degree pose-able twintails mounted via magnets. It’s expected to ship December 2017 with a retail of 2,000 Yen. Reservations end after December 31st, 2017.
Both items are available only via the Japanese Chara-Ani shop, which of course only seems to ship within Japan, so a proxy or friend would be needed to get these. They do have an overseas store, however, where they might be added later, so keep an eye on it! Overseas page → https://us.smaoku.com/store-132523/
Starting today, VOLKS is exhibiting Hatsune Miku Dollfie Dream with a very special traditional Japanese outfit at an event at Kyoto Takashimaya, Japan. The exhibition, titled “ぼくらが日本を継いでいく-琳派・若冲・アニメ-” (no proper English translation available), or just “Rimpa” for short, is an event that pays homage to the “Rimpa” Japanese art style that was created in the 1700s.
Based on an illustration by artist KEI, the traditionally dressed Miku Dollfie will be on display at the venue until September 25th, and entry to the venue is free! There’s no word yet on if this outfit will be made available for order, but we’re sure many DD Miku owners would love it!
The celebration of Miku’s 10th anniversary is a celebration of many meanings for many of her fans around the world. One of the top focuses in this celebration is, of course, the music! Being a music software herself, music one of the cornerstones that helped make Hatsune Miku what she is today. We’d like to look at the special songs that Vocaloid artists contributed on the week of August 31st, the day of Miku’s 10th anniversary.
This list has a few special rules! First, the song has to have been uploaded to Nicovideo during the period of August 28th~September 3rd. This allows some room for Vocaloid producers that uploaded their songs a little early or late! Second, the song has to mention it was a 10th anniversary celebration song, either in the title, tags or description. Finally, songs will be ranked by average views per day, not total views! This gives a more accurate ranking of the fans favorite songs.
Without further day, here’s the Miku 10th anniversary song ranking! Do you have any favorites that didn’t make the list? Let us know in the comments below!
