The Japanese card company Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co. Ltd has announced an official collaboration between VISA and Hatsune Miku to create actual physical VISA credit cards and prepaid debit cards, and not just a digital e-money iD or music card like we’ve seen in the past. Although there will be a new design for those as well, along with the popular SONOCA music cards.

Applications for the card(s) will start at Magical Mirai 2015 in Tokyo at booth #18 in the exhibition area. Most of the cards feature exclusive artwork by iXima, the official illustrator of Hatsune Miku’s VOCALOID3 box art. The prepaid card features art from KEI, the official illustrator of Hatsune Miku’s VOCALOID2 software.

The cards have various benefits after application. The credit card offers a chance to win a special metallic version of the 1/4 scale Hatsune Miku V3 scale figure. Applicants of the credit card have to simply spend 70,000 Yen or more with it between September 15th and December 31st 2015 to enter a random drawing for one of 50 available figures.

The first 1,500 applicants will also receive the prepaid gift card preloaded with 500 Yen. The first 1,000 applicants will receive a SONOCA music card with a code preloaded to download a free sample of the song “Selfish Style feat. Hatsune Miku” by HachiojiP.

All of the above offers are only for residents of Japan, of course, but we’d enjoy seeing some official Western collabs in the future.

Some good news for overseas fans: Livestreaming will be available for the MATSURI DA DIVA event on March 9th. What is “MATSURI DA DIVA”? It was an event announced by SEGA to celebrate the launch of Project Diva F 2nd, before it was unfortunately delayed. Despite that setback, they have decided to continue with the event.

Livestream Link: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv170733910
Ticket page: https://secure.live.nicovideo.jp/event/matsuri_da_diva

As for the details, the event will feature the voice actors for all Crypton Vocaloids, as well as the 39’s band from the previous 39’s Giving Day concert events. They will perform live, followed by a mini concert event based somewhat on the popular Magical Mirai concert event from last summer. 6 songs are planned for this part of the event.

Viewing the livestream will require 1000 Nicovideo points, which costs 1,000 Yen (ticket page linked above). Points can be purchased using a credit card, but debit cards do not seem to work. The event can be enjoyed by viewers worldwide, and can also be watched again if you timeshift the event. The doors open starting at 17:30 JST (12:30 AM PST), and the event is scheduled to start at 18:00 JST (1:00 AM PST). Below is a clock of the current time in Japan. Enjoy the show!

It looks like we’ve got yet another game to add to Miku’s growing library of portable apps, and this one comes as a Hatsune Miku remake of an older game titled “Music Girl“, released by W Rock Games. The new app was co-developed with SEGA and Marza Animation Planet Inc, the same company who did the animation work for the first two Project Diva Games. So we’ve got a nice product coming from several experienced companies.

The new app features Hatsune Miku of course, who idles in rooms while waiting for you to play music. Doing so earns communication points, at which Miku will start to ask some quiz questions. Answering correctly helps lift her mood and increase her affection towards the player. You also earn items from Miku as gifts as you do better.

The application is available for free, but only on the Japanese iTunes app store for now. But despite this, it can still be downloaded without a credit card. All you need is a Japanese iTunes account. With the success of Miku Flick, hopefully they’ll consider a translated international release. The game does have in-app purchase options for additional outfits for 350 JPY each, but only the Spring outfit is released so far. The Summer and Fall outfits are due to be released at a later date.

To view the app’s official site, click the banner above. To view the iTunes listing, just click here. Thank you to Salanos and Vocaloidism for the info.
