Mikufan reader Sarah has sent in an email regarding this after receiving a bootleg figure herself. We will try to write up a guide on how to recognize fake figures soon, until then please be careful when purchasing any figure on eBay or a similar online auction place.

Since Christmas is around the corner and some of you might want to pick up a figure try to pay attention to the following points:

• Ask the seller for additional higher quality photos different from the ones listed in the auction
• Compare the art, text and images on the packaging to the original
• Pay close attention to details on the figures – There should be no rough parts or scuffmarks
• Pay attention to the price – if something looks too good to be true, then it probably is
• Avoid sellers from Hong Kong and China and Thailand, unless they are willing to provide further details and pictures regarding the figures

Sega finally released actual video footage for their upcoming Hatsune Miku: Project Diva game on PSP.

The game is still up for release in 2009, so for now you can only check out the official homepage and watch the video over and over again!

While this was already announced a few days ago I sadly did not have the time to post it until now. Anyway, it appears that Sega is making a completely Hatsune Miku dedicated game. Unlike the previous DS game which only featured Hatsune Miku in some minigames, this one will be all about her. The main focus of the game will be the rhythm game based story mode. During gameplay you can win several accessories and furniture to decorate Miku and her room. After that you can watch her walk around her room and do several activities. The untitled game is up for release in early 2009. No further details are known. For now enjoy the first impressions from these scans.

On August 3, YouTube user velveetaah uploaded a video of his 10-year-old daughter Maxine performing as Hatsune Miku. The video did not receive many views and pretty much slipped through YouTube unnoticed. However two days ago a Japanese user re-uploaded the video to NicoNicoDouga, Japan’s biggest video sharing website. In just a little more than 30 hours the video has already generated over 30.000 views and is getting close to 5000 comments. The video is already appearing on the top 25 videos for today and yesterday and will probably also make it’s way to the weekly ranking if it keeps receiving views and comments at this rate. Since the original video was also linked within the NicoNicoDouga repost the YouTube video also started to receive a lot of views and positive comments from Japanese users.

Update: Views are now up to 70.000 and comments have bypassed the 11.000 mark.
