It was just brought to my attention that Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len apparently are included in Sega’s arcade smash hit Virtua Fighter 5 R since a few days.

But don’t get your hopes up too high – you still can’t let Miku fight against Rin and Len to see who really is the better Vocaloid singer. Instead, players of the arcade game now get the chance to win a virtual Nendoroid figure to decorate their character with.

While the game has been receiving updates since the debut release in mid 2006, this is probably one of the most surprising ones! Hatsune Miku is still incredibly popular and as some of you might know has already appeared in a few other games such as the Korean online golf game Pangya and 13 Sai no Hello Work on the Nintendo DS.

Now on to some sad news. As some of you might know ArmyCats, the author of MikuMiku had already been announcing that he might be more or less forced to take his blog offline since he is moving back to Taiwan. It appears as this is the case now, since MikuMiku seems unreachable. He was doing a great job of keeping the English vocaloid scene updated on Vocaloid events and rankings. If he does not manage to return and bring his blog back online, please see this post as a tribute to him and MikuMiku.info. He did a great job and will be missed!

The Hatsune Miku T-Shirt raffle will finally have the results and winners announced soon. I had some technical problems due to the lack of a working printer and had to think of a different but equally fair method of doing the raffle. Regarding the raffle a lot of people had been asking where one can buy the Hatsune Miku shirts. To clear some things up I have added a Hatsune Miku product page, which you can find in the top navigation menu.

Also, we are still looking for help regarding one or more new sister sites! If you interested in the other Vocaloid characters like the Kagamine twins or Kaito and would be willing to write about them in a similar style to Mikufan.com, please contact us directly at info@[nospam]mikufan.com! Obviously remove the [nospam] part.

After the first Hatsune Miku Nendoroid figure had already sold out before the actual release in March this year, the second figure is doing ever better. It is now already the top selling figure on Amazon Japan while its still about five month till the actual release! The figure sales are followed by the first Hatsune Miku Nendoroid figure, making Miku rank first and second place in Amazon figure sales. Another clear sign of how popular Hatsune Miku actually is.

Those of you actually interested in purchasing the figure will need a good bit of luck since it is already sold out on most major online shops.

Play-Asia had the figure up for orders, however their stock has already been sold out. Since products are sometimes restocked before the release you should however consider keeping an eye on it until the release in September.
