After some teasing and much hype, SEGA of America has finally announced the Western release for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X for the PlayStation Vita, and even the upcoming PlayStation 4 version! Both versions are due for their Western release in Fall 2016, likely around the time of Japan’s Diva X launch for PS4. The game’s story mode screen appears to have had its name changed to “Cloud Screen” for its Western release (“Live Quest” in the Japanese version), so keep this change in mind when reading the summary below.

According to the English summary, the game’s narrative centers on Miku and her friends undertaking various requests as they explore the five Clouds that make up their world. For the Miku veterans, Project DIVA X has 30 songs and 300 modules (costumes) that get dropped. Available exclusively on the PS4 and PS Vita, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will release in physical and digital formats this Fall. The official Project DIVA X website is now live at http://miku.sega.com/divax.

In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, the world is comprised of five unique Clouds, each with its own aura – Classic, Cool, Cute, Elegant, and Quirky. As Miku and her friends progress, the auras of the songs they perform and even the modules they choose will have a profound effect on fulfilling challenge conditions for players to test themselves with. There’s also the newly added Concert Editor, which lets players create their own mini-concerts from the songs, modules and accessories they collect. As players take on Requests and explore Clouds with Miku and her friends, they begin to forge relationships, and ultimately, will reveal the secret of the eponymous “X.”

The game will be available in the Americas in Fall 2016 for the PS4 and PS Vita in both physical and digital formats. News of a European release is still pending. Check out the official trailer and photo gallery below! Screenshots are from the PS Vita version.

So what exactly does SEGA have planned for the future of the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva franchise in 2016 and beyond? Aside from the release of Project Diva X and Project Diva Future Tone, it seems SEGA may also have a PC port in the pipeline for our some music games featuring our beloved music idol, Hatsune Miku.

The rumor leak from TSSZ and SEGAbits says that SEGA is committed to supporting PC gamers, and supposedly has plans to bring a number of high-quality ports of some of their best game franchises, such as Yakuza, Vanquish, Resonance of Fate, Virtua Fighter 5, and titles in the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA franchise.

Licensing and porting issues aside, it’d be exciting for many gamers to see the Project Diva game series make an official debut on the PC platform. But don’t hold your breath, it’s all still an unconfirmed rumor for now. But if it holds true, great things await PC gaming Hatsune Miku fans in the future.

GSR caused some suspense during the live stream by opening a quick poll for fans to guess which car Goodsmile Racing will be using for the 2016 season: The Huracan GT3, Bently GT3, M6 GT3, or the AMG GT3. Most fans during the live stream picked the AMG GT3, but it was all in good fun. Goodsmile Racing will continue with the Mercedes AMG GT3 (2016 model) for next year as well, with #4 as their race number.

A lot of exciting Racing Miku news popped up today, regarding both Racing Miku 2016 (more on that later in the article), and Racing Miku 2015. The first up on the list is the announcement of open preorders for the Racing Miku 2015 1/8 scale figure from Good Smile Company!

The 2015 design of Racing Miku, the official character of the Hatsune Miku GT Project, is being made into a 1/8th scale figure! The figure’s design is based on Taiki’s illustration of Racing Miku as a ‘Princess Knight’, and has faithfully preserved all the details of the original illustration. The intricate outfit and dynamic pose all come together to create a cheerful Racing Miku that is sure to add new charm to any fan’s collection!

The expression of this particular Hatsune Miku figure is among the most charming I’ve seen, and will certainly make a great addition to the collection of Good Smile Racing and Hatsune Miku fans alike. Kahotan from Good Smile Company has released her full photo review of the figure, and is now available in English from her blog: http://mikatan.goodsmile.info/en/2015/12/22/racing-miku-2015-ver/

The figure is priced at 13,800 Yen from Good Smile Company’s online shop, with an ending preorder date of January 20th at 9:00 PM JST. Preorders are expected to ship in August 2016. Other shop options are also available:

Lastly, the new Racing Miku 2016 design was teased earlier today by Good Smile Racing via twitter. We only have a backside view for now, and we also do not yet know the name of the illustrator. The themes for the design were “Blaze”, “Victory”, and “Phoenix”, and incorporates elements from various winning artists from the Piapro collaboration.
