A software update for Hatsune Miku NT and Piapro Studio NT has been released today, finally bringing us the missing Whisper and Dark vocal libraries that were promised. The update also fixes some bugs, and adds some new functionality to help streamline the user experience. Check out the patch notes below!

Hatsune Miku NT v1.0.0.7 Update

  • Hatsune Miku NT Dark+ and Hatsune Miku Whisper+ libraries added.
  • There’s now an ability to correct the length of consonants according to the phrase and melody you’ve typed in.
  • Optimized articulation of phoneme transitions in some situations.

To download this update, you will need to login to your sonicwire account and check your purchased product licenses for the updater ZIP files.

If you have not yet purchased Hatsune Miku NT, you can download or opt for a retail package version of the software from the following pages:

Piapro Studio NT v3.0.3.4 Update

  • Now supports the newly added Hatsune Miku NT Dark+ and Hatsune Miku Whisper+ libraries.
  • Fixed an issue where editing the pitch of consonants with some phonetic symbols was not possible.
  • Fixed an issue where the portamento parameters were not saved.
  • Fixed an issue in the plugin version where it freezes on playback after loading a ppsf file with a different tempo than the host.

CFM notes that improvements in processing speed are being worked on for a future update, notably where processing loads become heavier as the song becomes longer.

The Piapro Studio NT v3.0.3.4 update is installed at the same time as the Hatsune Miku NT v1.0.0.7 update, so there’s no need for a separate installer.

The official costume design for the upcoming Hatsune Miku NT virtual singer software has been released! Hatsune Miku NT, which is releasing later this month, will once again feature main visual art by iXima, who has been the software art designer since Hatsune Miku V3’s release in 2013.

The new outfit design has a few subtle changes that add more frilly accents to the outfit, and some design elements that seem to take queues from the V4C design, such as the round hairbands. The arm sleeve and some mechanical design elements were created with assistance from Rella. Most notably, there is an increase in the volume of Miku’s hair compared to the V4X design, which some fans have humorously noted.

Boxart renders, a download version thumbnail and even design concept sketches have been released on a Sonicwire Blog update:

Hatsune Miku NT is set to officially release on November 27th, and will be Crypton Future Media’s first release of Hatsune Miku that uses their own proprietary singing synthesis engine, rather than VOCALOID, CevIO, Synthesizer V or other competing software. How this venture will fare among fans is yet to be seen, but we’re excited to see how Miku NT will perform!

Hatsune Miku NT’s prototype/beta version is finally here and available for download by those that have preordered the full version! If you missed the previous announcement regarding the changes and planned features, you can catch up on our previous article. → https://www.mikufan.com/?p=28803

What new things have been discovered since the prototype launch? A few quality of life tweaks. These include being able to deactivate/de-register the software from online via your Sonicwire account (versus on the computer the software was installed on), and being able to import VSQ/VSQX files (no VPR file support). This is a big relief for those who’ve had a computer fail while older software versions were still registered, as well as those who were hoping for backwards compatibility with older exported files.

There’s some issues, of course. There’s users reporting issues such as choppy shifting between vowels and consonants, crashing when adding vibrato, and issues opening complete .ppsf files (thanks to @dspear732 for these reports). There’s other bugs reported as well, but there’s already a patch on the way later this month.

Sonicwire tweeted they’ve listened to feedback from users, and will implement fixes and tweaks for Vibrato functions, sound quality and fluctuation improvements, and other bug fixes in the next update.

Hatsune Miku NT’s full software is scheduled to release for 19,800 JPY ($180) in August 2020.

Crypton Future Media has officially announced the latest version of Hatsune Miku’s singing synthesis software, which will be called Hatsune Miku NT (New Type). Hatsune Miku NT is scheduled for a late August 2020 release (with a beta release in Mid-March 2020).

Generate high-quality vocals through simple operation with the next generation of Hatsune Miku software!

“Hatsune Miku NT (New Type)” is a Hatsune Miku package that is a combination of newly developed “singing voice expression technology / dedicated voice library / software interface / voice effector”.The advanced vocal editor “Piapro Studio” integrates a variety of newly developed functions. You can control the direction of the song simply by typing in the lyrics and melody, and selecting the expression style. Combining the brushed-up voice library with the newly developed voice effector, it is possible to express everything from Hatsune Miku’s pretty singing voice, emotional sighing voice to angry voice, rattle voice, and death growl voice, all while maintaining smooth articulation. You can also introduce decorative pronunciations with one touch, allowing you to customize the singing voice in a very detailed way!

The software will retail for 19,800 JPY for the download version, but will be offered for 15,400 JPY to buyers that also own any one of Hatsune Miku’s previous software releases (excluding Append). That means owning any versions from Hatsune Miku V2 through Hatsune Miku V4X will qualify buyers for the discount!

The new software has been demonstrated in 3 songs in the video below:

Three voice types are planned in this new software, with “Original Voice” being the only one announced so far. This is also the only one that will be available in the beta release. This voice is described as a “Standard voice library with improved voice expression from previous Hatsune Miku”.

A more advanced version of the Piapro Studio editor for NT will be included in the software bundle, and will be able to operate as both standlone, and as a plugin (standalone-only in the beta version). Users can expect notable improvements to functionality in this release compared to previous versions.

The new software version also boasts a newly developed voice effector, which will have 6 different functions. Three have been announced so far, and these will be the ones available in the beta version.

Voice Drive
The effect which controls the trembling component of the voice and adjusts the strength/nuance of the voice. To express rattle and death growl voices is even possible by applying the presets.

Voice Voltage
This effect controls the tone and strength / weakness of voice and creates dynamic voice intonation.

Super Formant Shifter
This effect intelligently changes voice quality while maintaining the identity of the original voice. The effect can modulate voices to be more femine or child-like.

Hatsune Miku NT also comes bundled with “Studio One Artist Piapro Edition” by Presonus, which comes with over 500 virtual instruments (guitar, piano, drums, and various other synthesizers). This makes it easy to begin producing complete compositions!

Hatsune Miku NT will be available for Windows (version 8.1 and up) and Mac OS (version 10.11 and up).
