Hatsune Miku and NewDays collaboration returns once again but this time with Snow Miku to support Hokkaido! The collaboration, in celebration of Hokkaido’s 150th anniversary, will be bringing a variety of Hokkaido’s specialties starting today at all NewDays, NewDays KIOSK, and KIOSK shops until August 6th. Also included are clear files upon purchases and stamp rally with various prizes.

Fans who make purchases over 700 yen from now until July 23rd will receive a limited edition clear file of Snow Miku in NewDays uniform by KEI, where a second clear file by Mame no Moto will substitute in from July 24th until the end of collaboration. This makes it the second year we’re seeing Miku in her NewDays and JR East uniforms.

A stamp rally with QR codes will also be carried out. The rewards start out small from various designs of clear files to a limited edition Shinkalion the Animation postcard (where Miku piloted a bullet train transforming robot, and yes you read that right), and eventually, a special video with the names of winners called out by Miku herself.

In celebration of the launch of the campaign today, a new music video titled “NEWDAYS” by Michita has been released featuring Hatsune Miku and a Japanese music artist “pinoko” rapping together about Hokkaido. Movie & illustration courtesy of the artist iXima himself.

If you go take a peek at the official Hatsune Miku 10th anniversary site, you’ll see the page has been completely updated with a new look and a new main anniversary artwork by KEI (pictured above), designed by Shimazaki Mari! KEI, best known among Miku fans as the original Hatsune Miku artist for her VOCALOID2 boxart, was undeniably the artist of choice for drawing the 10th anniversary artwork. Shimazaki also has past experience with Hatsune Miku as the designer behind the outfit of Racing Miku 2013.

Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Outfit Design Concept by Shimazaki Mari

Artist Comments from KEI

I couldn’t have imagined it has already been 10 years, but before I knew it a decade had passed in the blink of an eye. I felt this special ocassion called for an outfit more beautiful than usual.

Artist Comments from Shimazaki Mari

For the 10th anniversary, I designed a large ribbon on the base design of Hatsune Miku to give an anniversary feeling. Various appearances of Miku were born in the last 10 years, and the rainbow is to wish for many more shapes of Miku to appear in the future as we (the community) grow. Congratulations on the 10th anniversary!

On the official anniversary site, you’ll also find a timeline outlining all the major points of Hatsune Miku’s history from her first software release, her first video game, first concert appearances, the birth of Snow Miku and more! Check it all out on the official site! → http://piapro.net/miku10th/

The world renowned virtual idol Hatsune Miku is making her way to the smartphone market once more, as Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku limited edition as of today. Not much is known of the phone for the time being, but here’s what we know so far.

The phone bears a striking similar appearance with its predecessor, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, and comes in a beautiful teal color design with Hatsune Miku theme. The back of the phone in the promo images is engraved with “初音未来” and “No.831” as references to Hatsune Miku in Chinese and her birthday on August 31st.

The limited edition package features a neat white design decorated with an original illustration by iXima, the official illustrator behind Hatsune Miku V3 and V4XAccessories inside the package are a portable battery pack and a case, with both featuring the same original illustration by iXima on the box cover.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is a 5.5-inch Full HD display device packed with a huge 4100 mAh battery. It also offers better-sustained performance on a 14nm FinFET Snapdragon 625 processor which is 20% more power efficient than Redmi Note 3, and is bound to put more power in your pocket. Redmi Note 4X has a 13MP CMOS camera and there are 5 colors to choose from: Green, Gold, Grey, Pink and Black.

As of now, we cannot confirm whether the phone will have international firmware or not. This will affect the ability to access Google Play Store. We don’t expect the phones to be available outside Xiaomi’s markets, however, international purchases with the assistance from importers is also an option.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku limited edition will go on sale on Valentine’s Day at 1299 RMB (188.70 USD). Regular edition (phone only) will be priced at 999 RMB (145.12 USD). In the mean time, check out the minigame on the official site featuring Ievan Polkka!
