Hatsune Miku is set to take part in the Tokyo 150 Year Festival in what will be her “biggest” performance appearance to date!

The “Tokyo 150 Year Festival”, held at Hamarikyu Garden on October 26-28th 2018, is a project commemorating the renaming of Edo to Tokyo, which has reached its 150 year milestone. Hatsune Miku has been appointed by the Tokyo government as the main program of the event that transmits the charm of Tokyo with various exhibitions based on the theme of “tradition and innovation”.

In the performance, titled “Koku wo Asobu Jikuu no Tabi ~Hatsune Miku Links Tokyo150~”, will feature Hatsune Miku projected onto a water screen 15m tall, and 30m wide in the park’s tidal pond. According to a tweet by Crypton Future Media’s Wataru Sasaki, Miku will sing a medley of 30 songs from across Tokyo’s 150 years of fashion.

Hatsune Miku’s performance will be complimented by Japanese jazz pianist and composer Masahiko Sato, and plans to sublime Miku’s songs with a jazzy arrangement. The main visual art for this event was drawn by iXima (poster below).
