Good Smile Company has announced a couple all-new nendoroids that will be made available at Anime Expo 2013, and among them is the Hatsune Miku: Yukata Ver. Natsutsubaki nendoroid. She will also be obtainable through online orders starting July 8th, and at other summer events in east asian countries.

This beautiful Yukata Miku nendoroid comes in a red summer yukata outfit, complete with 3 different facial expressions and several different accessories. These include a pouch, a candy apple, and a decorative flower for her hair.

Event-goers will be able to get their hands on this figure months before anyone else, as online orders aren’t scheduled to ship until October 2013. You’ll even save by not having to pay shipping costs. Event prices are currently unannounced, but the online price is set at 3200 Yen.

You can read the official Good Smile product page here, and find higher resolution images from Mamitan’s blog. Lower resolution images can be seen below.

As another small announcement, I will personally be attending Anime Expo once again this year for the full 4 days, from July 4th through the 7th. I will have some special announcements regarding my visit, so stay tuned!

Man, this is shaping up to be a VERY busy month.

In addition to all of the other announcements in regards to Miku’s 5th anniversary, Family Mart has announced their participation in yet another event. With all of these events and announcements going on, it’s becoming almost impossible to keep track of each one.

The “Miku Loves FamiMa” campaign is a special event running from today (August 14th in Japan) until September 10th (Japan time). To participate, you simply need to buy 500 yen or more in select goods from the store, many of which are themed after Miku herself (one product even featuring official art from Zaneeds). Doing so will result in a chance to win various prizes such as prepaid cards (1,000 winners), Miku themed MP3 players (100 winners), and a grand prize featuring a Hatsune Miku decorated electric scooter (1 winner).

To help promote the event, Family Mart has released several commercials. There’s the main commercial itself, which shows Miku happily marching through Family Mart while singing what sounds like the store’s theme song. In addition, there are two hilarious blooper videos that feature scenes from the “filming” of the commercial. To check out the official Family Mart site for the event, just click the image above, or click here. And enjoy the videos!

There is a lot of buzz and excitement about the upcoming 2012 Sapporo Winter Festival, along with the participation of Crypton and Snow Miku. A lot of artists have gotten creative and carved large Nendo Miku models out of snow and even ice, currently on display in Sapporo.

The most exciting piece of work on display now has to be the life sized figurine of Miku on display at the New Chitose Airport, approximately 100km south east of Sapporo. Many excited fans and visitors have flocked to capture pictures of the impressive statue, and also look at other various artworks on display. Nearby shops also had a lot of special Vocaloid related merchandise on sale.

It is doubtful that more will be produced, so don’t think that anyone will simply be able to buy one of these anytime in the future. One can always dream though. Oh, and be sure to check out all the other Snow miku goodies and art on display here: Click to view.

“Shut up and take my money” sure fits this well.

Well, something like that. To keep things short and sweet, I’ll just quickly introduce myself.

I simply go by the name of jrharbort (no, not Junior) and I’ve been a very happy member of the Vocaloid community for almost 4 years now.

Thanks to rather unusual and funny circumstances, I have been invited by Erik to be a contributor to this site. The details of which can be read in the comments of the previous post.  A surprising twist indeed, but a happy one.

Starting today, I’ll be taking on the responsibility of  a news writer for the site. Thank you very much to the people of Mikufan for the opportunity, and I hope everyone else watching will enjoy what I have to contribute.

Just don’t touch the leeks, and we should all get along just fine. =P
