Happy April 1st, and April Fools Day! While we don’t have any pranks planned for today, we’d like to share two great MikuMikuDance PVs created by the highly talented animator “Thanks“! These two videos celebrate Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto’s 10th anniversaries, and summarize all the MMD animations Thanks created with the two characters. And as always, his works are candy for the eyes!
And for those out of the loop, Kasane Teto also celebrates her 10th anniversary today, since she was originally revealed 10 years ago as an April Fools Day prank. However, she eventually became an officially recognized original character, and the most widely recognized UTAUloid!
MikuFan.com turned 10 years old today! All the way back on March 4th, 2008, MikuFan.com opened to serve as a leading source of Hatsune Miku news and resources for overseas fans. And to this day, it’s still the longest running overseas news page dedicated to the digital songstress.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, and thank our followers for your continued support, we’re hosting another giveaway! This time we’re going to be offering a Snow Miku 2018 plushie from the recent Snow Miku festival in Sapporo, along with a gorgeous tapestry illustrated by TID (68x93cm size). But you can only choose one of the prizes!
The quiz for this giveaway will test how much you know about Snow Miku! We’ll keep the quiz open until 12:00 AM PST on March 9th (Miku Day), or until both prizes have been claimed by the winners. We’ll contact the winners by email, so watch your inboxes for an email to see if you’ve won! Good luck!
Nothing quite says “celebration” like a nice glass of bubbly, and why not celebrate Hatsune Miku’s 10th anniversary with some sparkling wine (non-alcoholic, of course!).
The 0.0% metallic sparkling wine made by Bodegas Copaboca Bodega and imported from Spain has Halal certification, a Muslim certification agency. The bottle comes turquoise colored, and is available in two different editions: Bottle-only, or a 10th Anniversary box set, which also includes a special glass made by Lehmann Glass, a french company.
The regular edition costs 3900 Yen, while the Box Set costs 7800 Yen. While Rakuten will only ship the item within Japan, you can order this item overseas by using the Tenso proxy, which also conveniently provides an address format for Rakuten. Grab both editions from the links below!
The Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary ver. 1/7 scale figure with its beautiful design and stunning colors is now available for preorder! Additionally, there is a special Memorial edition available, which will include a large A4 size commemorative book called the “Hatsune Miku Archive”, which will include the winners of the Pixiv Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary illustration contest as well as other contents to look back on Miku’s 10th anniversary.
Celebrating 10 years of Hatsune Miku!
Hatsune Miku celebrated her 10th anniversary on the 31st August 2017. In commemoration of the anniversary, Hatsune Miku’s character designer KEI illustrated a brand new illustration of Miku featuring the outfit designed by manga artist Mari Shimazaki. This illustration has now been transformed into an intricate scale figure by sculptor Takayuki Kawahara, filled with 10 years of appreciation towards the virtual idol!
The lovely scale figure is available from Good Smile Company’s online shop for 20,000 Yen (177 USD) for the regular edition, and 25,000 for the Memorial edition, with preorders open until January 11th 2018. She’s scheduled to ship around December 2018. You can also find her available from these other online shops!
The celebration of Miku’s 10th anniversary is a celebration of many meanings for many of her fans around the world. One of the top focuses in this celebration is, of course, the music! Being a music software herself, music one of the cornerstones that helped make Hatsune Miku what she is today. We’d like to look at the special songs that Vocaloid artists contributed on the week of August 31st, the day of Miku’s 10th anniversary.
This list has a few special rules! First, the song has to have been uploaded to Nicovideo during the period of August 28th~September 3rd. This allows some room for Vocaloid producers that uploaded their songs a little early or late! Second, the song has to mention it was a 10th anniversary celebration song, either in the title, tags or description. Finally, songs will be ranked by average views per day, not total views! This gives a more accurate ranking of the fans favorite songs.
Without further day, here’s the Miku 10th anniversary song ranking! Do you have any favorites that didn’t make the list? Let us know in the comments below!
