Happy April 1st, and April Fools Day! While we don’t have any pranks planned for today, we’d like to share two great MikuMikuDance PVs created by the highly talented animator “Thanks“! These two videos celebrate Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto’s 10th anniversaries, and summarize all the MMD animations Thanks created with the two characters. And as always, his works are candy for the eyes!

And for those out of the loop, Kasane Teto also celebrates her 10th anniversary today, since she was originally revealed 10 years ago as an April Fools Day prank. However, she eventually became an officially recognized original character, and the most widely recognized UTAUloid!

Yesterday was April 1st, April Fools! “IAFan.com” was the first time we’ve pulled a prank on MikuFan, and we wanted to have a little fun! But fear not, we’re not shifting our focus away from Hatsune Miku, and we plan to stay here for a very long time. But we need our site visitor’s help to do it!

MikuFan has grown quite a lot over the years since it originally launched on March 4th, 2008. But at the same time, our site operation costs have increased. This has been made further difficult due to changes in Yen exchange rates making site costs 50% higher than they were just a few years ago. These stacking costs have made it sometimes difficult for the site to continue breaking even on the bills.

How can you help? Here’s some ways!

Buy Your Hatsune Miku Merchandise From MikuFan Partner Shops!
While we all have our own preferred places to shop, sometimes the shops we’re partnered with will offer better deals! Before selecting your item, consider following any of the links on our “Hatsune Miku Products for Fans” page before making a purchase. The shops wont charge you any extra for it, and they send a little bit of it our way as thanks! Some of our articles will also list CDJapan and Tokyo Otaku Mode links, which directly support our site!

Support Us Directly On Patreon!
If you would prefer to tip us directly, we have launched a MikuFan Patreon page with the primary goal of covering the gaps in our site operation costs. Any extra after that will be contributed towards our site writers bringing you additional first hand event event coverage and exclusives. We hope to someday leave no event details uncovered! A special “thank you” illustration will be made available soon to patrons, while those that contributed in advance will be contacted with a link to the artwork. Just click the image below to check out our Patreon. A small Patreon logo can also be found under the social media buttons of every site article.

Continue Sharing The Hatsune Miku Love!
You can also help simply by sharing our content with more people! More followers also leads to additional supporters, and we grow through the support of fans! For every one of you that has shared our media with others, we’re truly thankful for your help!

Oh yeah, we’re also on Instagram now! With the heavy support from Vocaloid followers on Instagram, we’ve decided to launch our own page! Find us at the instagram icon on the right side-bar (→ if you’re on desktop) or bottom of the site (↓ if you’re on mobile), or just click this logo!

After careful planning and consideration, MikuFan will now become IAFan, your #1 fan source for IA news and resources! Our new header art comes courtesy of Raestu Dwiatmaja, a talented artist from Indonesia. Check out more of his art on his Instagram! → https://www.instagram.com/raestu27/

IA is the first Vocaloid created by 1st Place, and was released on the VOCALOID3 engine in early 2012 as the first vocal of their “-ARIA ON THE PLANETES-” project. Her voice bank samples were created using vocal data from popular singer Lia, from which IA also gets her name. In 2014, she received an additional voice bank release titled IA ROCKS, which gave the voice a feeling of power, and made it better suited towards rock style songs.

Over 15,000 songs have been created with IA’s software to date, she’s starred in her own music game IA/VT Colorful, and she has also performed live in concert at Anime Expo 2015! The recent 「PARTY A GO-GO」 live concert in Japan was the first in her own home country, with its own DVD and Blu-Ray release. Check out the trailer below!

Special thanks to these artists that also offered to help with our new project:
