Back in April, Goodsmile Racing announced that they would return to the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. But rather than having the usual Racing Miku for their car livery, the team will collaborate with TYPE-MOON RACING to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Fate series!

The #00 Goodsmile Racing & TYPE-MOON RACING Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be driven by the two Super GT drivers of Nobuteru Taniguchi (JPN) and Tatsuya Kataoka (JPN) with their third driver being Adam Christodoulou (GBR), known for winning the 24 Hours of Dubai and 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

The other two cars with itasha liveries recently announced for the race are the #04 and #06 Mercedes-AMG Black Falcon cars. The #04 car is wrapped up with visuals of the anime Promare by Studio Trigger and is driven by Maro Engel (GER), Luca Stolz (GER) and Yelmer Buurman (NLD). The #06 car is wrapped up with Hatsune Miku using the V4X main visual by iXima and is driven by Abdulaziz Al Faisal (KSA), Hubert Haupt (GER), Patrick Assenheimer (GER) and Gabriele Piana (ITA).

The race will take place from July 26th to July 28th, and we wish both teams good luck for the upcoming endurance race!

We got surprisingly close to another race potentially being cancelled due to heavy rain, but the 2nd round of SUPER GT 2019 at Fuji Speedway on May 4th was able to come to a close with Goodsmile Racing placing 6th! The final minutes of the race was a tough battle for driver TK, who managed to steal back the 6th place position from #33 (a Nissan GT-R) at the last minute. That brings our team’s score to 12.5 points so far for this season, with a 7th place overall team rank.

Round 3 will be at Suzuka on May 25th~26th. Hopefully the weather will be more kind at the next race! Fight, GSR!

Goodsmile Racing also released the first image of the Figma Racing Miku 2019 fully painted! Additionally, GSR has announced that individual item sales of the Figma will be made available sometime soon. If you’d like to obtain the Figma along with additional benefits, the personal sponsors courses are also available!

As quoted by one of Goodsmile Racing’s own reporters, last night’s SUPER GT Sound 1 race in Okayama was… A strange one. The rainy weather was among the worst we’ve seen in any races to date, and resulted in many delays and accidents during the race. All of this eventually led to the early finish of the race at 31/82 laps completed, as there would have been no way to finish the race by 17:30, by regulation.

Although Goodsmile Racing suffered some minor damage to their rear bumper after a collision by two other nearby cars, they were still able to race. But the early race finish resulted in GSR placing 9th overall. This ranking was bumped to 8th after a confirmed penalty on the #11 car (the GAINER TANAX GT-R).

All drivers in the top 10 received half points for an incomplete race, resulting in GSR having a total of 1 and a half (1.5!) points. Quite an unusual race with an unusual score result. Here’s to hoping Round 2 in Fuji has better weather! That race will take place May 3rd~4th. Fight, GSR!
