Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X Launching in North America August 30th, Preorders And Bonuses Announced

Well, that didn’t take long! Just a couple days after SEGA’s announcement of the Japanese version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X HD (PS4) being pushed forward in launch to August 25th, SEGA of America has announced the North American versions will also be pushed forward with a new launch date of August 30th, 2016!

The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions for the West will launch at the same time, and also with the same name of “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X” for both versions (dropping the “HD” moniker from the Japanese PS4 version). And just like the Japanese version, the Western release will be issued a free update to support PlayStation VR in Live Edit Mode after it has launched.

The game will retail for $39.99 (CA $54.99) for the PS Vita version, and $49.99 (CA $64.99) for the PlayStation 4 version. They’re now available for preorder from various game retailers! SEGA is also bundling a preorder bonus of a free fabric pouch decorated with the 5 aura symbols from the game!


 
A new trailer featuring footage from the PlayStation 4 version is now available, showing off even more game details than the previous Japanese trailer. Check it out below! There is no information on a European release at this time.

With the launch of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X (Vita version) now in the past, fans of the Diva series are now waiting for more news of the PlayStation 4 version launch. SEGA obliged today with the first official game video, along with a surprise announcement: The launch date has been pushed forward from its original Fall 2016 launch, to a new launch date of August 25th, 2016! Rather than releasing as what we hoped would be a PlayStation VR launch title, the game will instead launch sooner, and add a later update to support PlayStation VR for the live edit mode after its launch. The launch price will be 7990 Yen.

The game also has a new official title: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X HD. This is likely to help give the title more differentiation compared to the Vita version (the previous Diva F 2nd was named the same on Vita and PS3). The finalized game art has been illustrated by KEI (seen above), and is now visible on the official game website. A Snow Miku DLC module pack was announced for early buyers: Between August 25th and September 25th, a DLC pack containing Snow Miku versions 2010~2015 can be downloaded completely free! This pack will also be made available for the PS Vita version.




 
The “cool” element medley named “Cyber Rock Jam” was featured in the new video, and confirms the game will be running at a smooth 60 frames per second, a first for a home console Project Diva game. The shadow and lighting detail also seems improved, but the model detail seems largely unchanged.

The English versions for PlayStation Vita and PS4 are still slated for a Fall 2016 release, unless SEGA releases new announcements regarding changes for those versions. Other than that, what do you guys think of the news announcements for Diva X HD? Are you more excited or disappointed?

VOLKS Announces Original Hatsune Miku Dollfie Dream Limited Re-release Starting May 6th

Originally up for preorder in 2013, the original Hatsune Miku Dollfie Dream from Volks stood as the pinnacle of collectables for many Miku fans (that is, until the Snow Miku Dollfie Dream and Daihatsu car collabs came along). While many were able to welcome her into their homes, many others weren’t so lucky. But those fans will soon have another chance!

First revealed by VOLKS USA in the program booklet at Miku Expo in Seattle, and more recently on their official Facebook page, it has been confirmed that there will be a limited re-release of the original Hatsune Miku Dollfie Dream beginning May 6th 2016, in collaboration with the Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 North America tour. It seems they plan to keep orders open until June 10th 2016, or at least until limits are reached.

Also planned is a re-release of her various accessories, such as replacement wigs, alternate hands, full body suits, etc. However, it’s unknown what the regional availability will be for orders. The Hatsune Miku: Cheerful Ver. figure has been announced for rerelease as a charity figure in expressing condolences to those affected by the earthquakes in Kumamoto prefecture in April 2016. For each figure sold, Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company (ENGLISH) will donate 2,000 yen to aid the relief efforts in Japan.

The figure is based on the winning illustration titled “Cheer Up!!” by bun150 from the Cheerful JAPAN! feat. Miku Hatsune Cheerful Illustration Contest previously held in 2011.

We wish to express our condolences to those who have been affected by the earthquakes that struck Kumamoto prefecture in April 2016. We want to work with our fans to bring back the cheer to Japan by bringing back the ‘Cheerful JAPAN!’ charity project, to help raise funds to aid relief efforts in the Kyushu region.

This product is released as a joint charity project with Crypton Future Media.

This 1/8th scale figure based on the winning illustration from pixiv’s 2011 ‘Cheerful JAPAN! feat. Miku Hatsune Cheerful Illustration Contest’ is back once again to cheer everyone up! The illustration was titled ‘Cheer Up!!’, and was illustrated by bun150. She is wearing a cute cheerleader’s outfit, and has a lovely smile on her face to help spread the cheer all over the world!

For each figure sold, Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company will donate ¥2000 to aid the relief efforts in Japan.

The figure is exclusive to Good Smile Online Shop, and is priced at 10,800 yen. Preorders are now available, and will remain open until May 25th at 21:00 JST. The release date is scheduled for December this year.

Due to the donation taking place before products are delivered, you will be charged on order and not on delivery. Overseas orders will be applied with a  shipping charge of 2,000 yen to all countries.

The first concert of Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 in North America has reached its conclusion in Seattle, Washington on April 23rd! Thanks to this event, we have a glimpse at what appears to be the concert setlist for the North American tour. So this is your obligatory spoiler warning before proceeding!
