Editor Note: We know we’re late on publishing this one to the site. Work schedules and waiting for news verification both played a factor, but here it is.

A new Hatsune Miku animated series, as well as a webtoons and comics, are currently in the early stages of development. The news officially broke via an exclusive posted by Deadline, and was later confirmed by Graphic India, one of the partners in the series creation.

Crypton Future Media, Graphic India and Carlin West Agency are working together on the new series and comics. Sharad Devarajan and Carlin West and a team of writers will be creating the series, while the development will be overseen by CEO Hiroyuki Itoh of Crypton Future Media.

Hatsune Miku fans will be able to experience an original story with live-action, animation and music. How the “live-action” part is planned to be implemented will be interesting to see.

News regarding a release schedule is not available at this time, but we’ll likely hear more throughout the year.

Hatsune Miku has managed to score yet another gig in a major promotional video, this time for Netflix in Japan! Hatsune Miku was the singer of choice in Netflix Japan’s latest Summer Anime Lineup promotional video. Check it out below!

The song is new and original for this promotional video, and as such doesn’t have a name, or even a credit to the artist that composed it. But the instrumental selection and vocal tuning style sounds incredibly familiar to some well-known Vocaloid producer that we can’t put a finger on. Kudos to those who can identify who it is, and please share in the comments below!

Ever wondered what Hatsune Miku would look like if she was drawn in the art style of Yuru Yuri anime and manga series? Well, the series character artist Namori has done just that with a recent doodle on Twitter!

Namori says it’s just a らくがき (sketch), so it leaves us wondering how this art would look if she went crazy with it. It’s already very cute as it is! Check out the full size artwork from the tweet above.

As a fun trivia, the voice actor of Sugiura Ayano from the Yuru Yuri anime series was Fujita Saki, the same voice provider for Hatsune Miku’s VOCALOID voicebank!

Both surprisingly and unsurprisingly, a recent poll from the official Shinkalion website for fan favorite characters from Shinkalion The Animation showed overwhelming support for Hatsune Miku, who topped the poll with the #1 fan vote! Despite being recently introduced, it’s clear that many were looking forward to Miku’s appearance. Even the series main character Hayasugi Hayato didn’t stand a chance in the heated competition, placing 5th in the poll.

Poll Results: http://www.shinkalion.com/news/715/

The official site also announced the top 3 characters of the poll will get special wallpapers made, which should be posted on their site soon, so keep an eye for that! News feed → http://www.shinkalion.com/news/

Following up on our recent article of Hatsune Miku’s debut in episode 15 of “Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion”, we’re happy to share that official uploads of episodes 15 and 16 are available on YouTube from Takara Tomy’s channel!

The episodes don’t feature any English captions (yet!), but Takara Tomy is allowing submissions of community translations! If anyone out there is confident in their Japanese skills and would like to help translate the episodes, go for it!

EDIT 5/18/018: The official uploads seem to be purged after a period of time, so we are embedding new mirrors of the original source. We also added episode 17, and added English captions to the videos (credits to Weeaboo-Shogun).
