It’s time to announce the results of our 10th anniversary giveaway contest! We quized 4 difficult questions with the theme of Snow Miku, and we received more entries than our last giveaway. Here’s our contest winners!

-= Snow Miku 2018 Plushie Winner =-
SayakaMiku Lover

-= Hatsune Miku Tapestry by TID =-
ReaperDrone43

Congratulations to the two winners, and thank you to everyone that participated! We’ll review the questions below for those curious of the answers:

LamazeP’s popular song “Love Song” was performed live at Snow Miku Live 2018, but which Miku event in Sapporo did LamazeP himself first appear at? (Please provide event name and year!)
LamazeP first made a public appearance at a Miku event in Sapporo with the “MikuPa 2011 in Sapporo” event!

Which year did Snow Miku first serve as ambassador for the Sapporo Snow Festival?
This one is a bit tricky, as Snow Miku was first adopted as a Sapporo Snow Festival ambassador around mid-2011, but didn’t serve the role until the Snow Festival of 2012.

Which year did Snow Miku first collaborate with the popular amusement center Sugai Dinos in Sapporo?
This was a difficult one, as I recently learned about this during my visit to Snow Miku 2018! Advertisements playing on the street featured Miku announcing that this was her 5th year collaborating with Sugai Dinos, meaning the collaboration started in 2014!

When and where did the popular “Snow Miku Hair Christmas Tree” appear?
There was some flexibility with this answer! The tree appeared in New Chitose Airport on December 6th, 2014, but wasn’t removed until February 2015. So “New Chitose Airport 2014” or “New Chitose Airport 2015” were both valid answers! Kudos to those who got the exact starting date!

MikuFan.com turned 10 years old today! All the way back on March 4th, 2008, MikuFan.com opened to serve as a leading source of Hatsune Miku news and resources for overseas fans. And to this day, it’s still the longest running overseas news page dedicated to the digital songstress.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, and thank our followers for your continued support, we’re hosting another giveaway! This time we’re going to be offering a Snow Miku 2018 plushie from the recent Snow Miku festival in Sapporo, along with a gorgeous tapestry illustrated by TID (68x93cm size). But you can only choose one of the prizes!

The quiz for this giveaway will test how much you know about Snow Miku! We’ll keep the quiz open until 12:00 AM PST on March 9th (Miku Day), or until both prizes have been claimed by the winners. We’ll contact the winners by email, so watch your inboxes for an email to see if you’ve won! Good luck!

Merry Christmas, everyone! Or as Miku fans would say, Merry Mikuristmas! For today’s festive day, we would like to announce the results of our Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2017 plushie giveaway!

The winner of our giveaway is khaz from Washington, United States, who was the first to answer both questions correctly on our giveaway quiz! Congratulations! We reached out to khaz, who had this to say:

“Hatsune Miku is my spirit animal! Thank you Mikufan for helping me keep up with her.”

Question #1: What was Hatsune Miku’s BIGGEST concert appearance?
Answer: Natsu no Owari no 39 Matsuri

We chose our wording very carefully for this question! We weren’t talking about Hatsune Miku’s biggest concert performance, or even her biggest event. But rather, her BIGGEST concert appearance. And her appearance was certainly the biggest at Natsu no Owari no 39 Matsuri in 2012, where stood an amazing 10 meters (33 feet) tall! Below is a digest video of the event.

Question #2: Who is the “father” of Hatsune Miku?
Answer: Wataru Sasaki

Yet another very carefully worded question! When we talk about the father of a software, you of course refer to its creator. Many were quick to choose Hiroyuki Itoh for this question, since he’s the CEO of Crypton Future Media. But he wasn’t the creator of Miku’s software! That honor goes to Wataru Sasaki, aka CFM_Wat, or @vocaloid_cv_cfm on twitter, whom many of you may already follow! He was the head engineer behind Crypton Future Media’s Character Vocal series of products, which includes Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, and Megurine Luka.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our giveaway! We here at MikuFan wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Below is a collection of Hatsune Miku Christmas illustrations we gathered from Pixiv, enjoy!
