After Gatebox, creators of the virtual home robot projection box, teased a Hatsune Miku themed demo at last year’s Magical Mirai, they now seem determined to proceed with the idea of creating a proper version of the box with Hatsune Miku, this time for the consumer market! The announcement comes from an update to Gatebox’s website. Titled the “Living with Hatsune Miku” project, it announces a March 9th, 2018 release. Further details are expected to arrive at a later date.

Gatebox plans yet another preview for this year’s Magical Mirai, hopefully with changes to show off improved interaction compared to last year’s demo. If you wish to try the demo, you must fill out the application located about 3/4 the way down the official page: http://gatebox.ai/livingwithproject/

Above is Gatebox’s official announcement video of the event. It’s not much, but we should learn more later. The LAT Miku model may be a placeholder, and not the finalized model choice. Pricing info is also still TBA, but might end up the same as the original Gatebox’s price of 298,000 Yen.

What better day than Hatsune Miku’s own anniversary to release a new version of her software? Today (August 31st) marks the 9th anniversary since Crypton Future Media released Hatsune Miku’s original software in 2007, and today is also the release of her V4X update using the VOCALOID4 engine!

For the release of the software, another demo song using Hatsune Miku V4 English has been uploaded. The song is a self cover of MJQ’s original song “Melody”, now using Miku V4 English (versus the previous song’s use of V3 English, available here: http://youtu.be/iEVAYH22aS8). Check out the demo song and official product links below, and catch up on the different versions and pricing details in our previous article.

If the recent tweets by Crypton Future Media’s staff are anything to go by, we can likely expect to hear about Hatsune Miku V4X’s software release very soon. CFM’s Wataru Sasaki says the main visual (artwork) for the software has pretty much been finalized, but may need some adjustment before release.

And for those wondering about another English voicebank, there is one planned for inclusion in the software, and this time it will be much more similar to the Japanese voicebank in terms of pitch and tone. This should hopefully satisfy many fans complaints and gripes with the original English software release from 2013.

Hatsune Miku’s V4X software was planned for a Summer 2016 release, so we can expect it any time now. Stay tuned for the big announcements coming soon!

According to news via hokanko-alt and Gematsu, the latest Weekly Famitsu has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 release of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone will take place in Japan on June 23rd via the PlayStation network.

The main application needed to launch the game, “Prelude”, will be available for free download. However, adding playable songs and modules will require purchasing one (or both) of the following music packs for 4,212 Yen each: “Future Sound” with 120 songs and a focus on Project Diva and Project Diva F series music selection, and “Colorful Tone” with 100 songs and a focus on Project Mirai and Project Diva Arcade music selection. Combined, the two packs also have 340 modules (costumes). More details in our past article.

This means for 8424 Yen ($78), you get practically the entire Project Diva Arcade Future Tone music selection with enhanced visuals over the arcade counterpart. Not bad at all! Preorders start this month, and early bird buyers will be entitled to two PS4 themes as a bonus. Keep in mind the game is available only via the Japanese PlayStation network!
