As a quick update regarding Anime Expo 2013, a recent schedule update posted to the Anime Expo website has confirmed Crypton as a speaking guest for the event.

Crypton will be hosting a panel about Hatsune Miku on day 4 (July 7th) at 3:30 PM, and the panel is scheduled to run for 1.5 hours. Due to the panel length and announcement timing, it is very likely that we may hear updates regarding English Miku’s development. I will be posting updates in real time to MikuFan’s Twitter as the panel is happening.

For the second year in a row, this writer of MikuFan will be visiting Anime Expo in Los Angeles for all 4 days from July 4th through July 7th. I’ll be visiting to enjoy the various Vocaloid-related panels and activities. These include the performance of DJ Revolution Boi on day 1 of the Expo, and the “Sound of the Future” Vocaloid panels on day 3. Utata-P, Dixie Flatline and several other popular producers are also confirmed as guests for the event.

To help make things exciting, I will also be hosting my own prize giveaway event at the convention. To participate and win a prize is rather simple, but may be challenging considering the size of the convention center:

1: Follow MikuFan’s twitter account.

2: I will post messages and images at random intervals to give clues to my location in the convention center.

3: If you successfully locate me using the clues, you will be awarded with a rare piece of Hatsune Miku merchandise.

4: Prize quantities will be limited! There may not be enough to last the entire convention! Good Luck!

Besides the prize giveaway, I will also be tweeting images of everything Hatsune Miku related I can find, including images from Good Smile Company’s booth.

Hope to see you there!

Good Smile Company has announced a couple all-new nendoroids that will be made available at Anime Expo 2013, and among them is the Hatsune Miku: Yukata Ver. Natsutsubaki nendoroid. She will also be obtainable through online orders starting July 8th, and at other summer events in east asian countries.

This beautiful Yukata Miku nendoroid comes in a red summer yukata outfit, complete with 3 different facial expressions and several different accessories. These include a pouch, a candy apple, and a decorative flower for her hair.

Event-goers will be able to get their hands on this figure months before anyone else, as online orders aren’t scheduled to ship until October 2013. You’ll even save by not having to pay shipping costs. Event prices are currently unannounced, but the online price is set at 3200 Yen.

You can read the official Good Smile product page here, and find higher resolution images from Mamitan’s blog. Lower resolution images can be seen below.

As another small announcement, I will personally be attending Anime Expo once again this year for the full 4 days, from July 4th through the 7th. I will have some special announcements regarding my visit, so stay tuned!
