Goodsmile Racing Announces 2016 Racing Miku Figma Sponsorship Courses Early

Following the Nendoroid sponsorship courses announcement, Goodsmile Racing has announced the 2016 Figma sponsorship courses to begin on January 1st, 2016 JST. The full list of sponsor goods have also been announced, while the figma appearance itself is yet to be revealed.

Similar to the Nendoroid sponsorship courses, there is also a new 5th course option this year. The official sponsorship course page will be updated on January 1st, 2016 JST.

Goodsmile Racing is wasting no time with the new year, and will be opening its 2016 Nendoroid sponsorship courses beginning January 1st, 2016 JST. While no pictures have been provided yet of what the Nendoroid will look like (however, expect one soon!), the sponsors course rewards have already been announced. There is also a new 5th course option this year, compared to the 4 courses from previous years. The official sponsorship course page will be updated on January 1st. Hatsune Miku: Swimsuit ver. 1/12 Scale Figure Preorders Open

Summer wear in Winter? Sure, why not! The previously teased Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka Swimsuit version 1/12 scale figures from FREEing are now up for preorder starting today! They are the first of an all-new figure line called “S-Style”, which is short for “Small & Stylish”. They are aimed at being small, yet detailed and affordably priced.

A new series of figures that aim to create palm-sized figures that are both ‘SMALL & STYLISH’ – S-style! The first to join the series is Hatsune Miku wearing a striped bikini with a frilly bottom that really brings out her cute side!

While the figure is quite small, the sculpting of her characteristic twin tails and even the coloring of her eyes have been given the utmost attention to bring a high quality figure for a reasonable price. You can also display her together with the second in the series, Megurine Luka, to start your S-style collection!

The S-style series is just beginning, so be sure to look forward to more in the future!

Both figures are up for preorder on Good Smile Company’s online shop for 2,980 Yen ($25) each, with preorders closing on January 20th, 2016 at 9:00 PM JST. The expected shipment period is April 2016, just 4 months later! The figures can also be found on other sites at various prices.

GSR Reveals Racing Miku 2016 Details, Team Drivers, Mercedes AMG GT3 Continuation

Goodsmile Racing’s year-end live stream and website update brought some news about the upcoming 2016 racing season, which includes the new Racing Miku design, racing vehicle choice, and team drivers. To start, both previous drivers, Tatsuya Kataoka and Nobteru Taniguchi, will continue racing for the team in the 2016 race season.

GSR caused some suspense during the live stream by opening a quick poll for fans to guess which car Goodsmile Racing will be using for the 2016 season: The Huracan GT3, Bently GT3, M6 GT3, or the AMG GT3. Most fans during the live stream picked the AMG GT3, but it was all in good fun. Goodsmile Racing will continue with the Mercedes AMG GT3 (2016 model) for next year as well, with #4 as their race number.

A front-side view of the previously teased Racing Miku design was finally revealed, showing bright and vibrant colors that truly match the themes of a blazing phoenix. The official illustrator is Mai Yoneyama, who is known for art direction in anime such as Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, Black Rock Shooter (TV) and more. The art design was directed by Shigeto Koyama, who shares a fairly similar work experience with Mai.

Racing Miku 2016 Design Teased, Preorders Open For Racing Miku 2015 1/8 Scale Figure

A lot of exciting Racing Miku news popped up today, regarding both Racing Miku 2016 (more on that later in the article), and Racing Miku 2015. The first up on the list is the announcement of open preorders for the Racing Miku 2015 1/8 scale figure from Good Smile Company!

The 2015 design of Racing Miku, the official character of the Hatsune Miku GT Project, is being made into a 1/8th scale figure! The figure’s design is based on Taiki’s illustration of Racing Miku as a ‘Princess Knight’, and has faithfully preserved all the details of the original illustration. The intricate outfit and dynamic pose all come together to create a cheerful Racing Miku that is sure to add new charm to any fan’s collection!

The expression of this particular Hatsune Miku figure is among the most charming I’ve seen, and will certainly make a great addition to the collection of Good Smile Racing and Hatsune Miku fans alike. The figure is priced at 13,800 Yen from Good Smile Company’s online shop, with an ending preorder date of January 20th at 9:00 PM JST. Preorders are expected to ship in August 2016. Other shop options are also available:

Lastly, the new Racing Miku 2016 design was teased earlier today by Good Smile Racing via twitter. We only have a backside view for now, and we also do not yet know the name of the illustrator. The themes for the design were “Blaze”, “Victory”, and “Phoenix”, and incorporates elements from various winning artists from the Piapro collaboration.

The main Good Smile Racing website went offline for maintenance less than an hour ago to be updated, likely with the new Racing Miku design and information for the 2016 Super GT race season. GSR has mentioned via twitter that the site will come back online around 8:00 PM JST on December 23rd, and a year-end party stream was announced for 7:00 PM JST on the same day.
