Hatsune Miku and NewDays collaboration returns once again but this time with Snow Miku to support Hokkaido! The collaboration, in celebration of Hokkaido’s 150th anniversary, will be bringing a variety of Hokkaido’s specialties starting today at all NewDays, NewDays KIOSK, and KIOSK shops until August 6th. Also included are clear files upon purchases and stamp rally with various prizes.

Fans who make purchases over 700 yen from now until July 23rd will receive a limited edition clear file of Snow Miku in NewDays uniform by KEI, where a second clear file by Mame no Moto will substitute in from July 24th until the end of collaboration. This makes it the second year we’re seeing Miku in her NewDays and JR East uniforms.

A stamp rally with QR codes will also be carried out. The rewards start out small from various designs of clear files to a limited edition Shinkalion the Animation postcard (where Miku piloted a bullet train transforming robot, and yes you read that right), and eventually, a special video with the names of winners called out by Miku herself.

In celebration of the launch of the campaign today, a new music video titled “NEWDAYS” by Michita has been released featuring Hatsune Miku and a Japanese music artist “pinoko” rapping together about Hokkaido. Movie & illustration courtesy of the artist iXima himself.

The Xiaomi x Hatsune Miku campaign, of which we shared the details of yesterday, has finally reached its next goal of 1,000,000 support points, and unlocked the new campaign theme artwork (sample above)! The illustration is drawn by Mame no Moto, an illustrator also well known for drawing the official Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese artwork, and drawing the main visual artwork for Snow Miku 2016.

Also announced is the public release of the previously exclusive Hatsune Miku phone theme for the limited edition Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X. The theme is now available for all Xiaomi devices from Xiaomi’s theme shop in China for all compatible Xiaomi devices running MIUI.

The final phase of the campaign is set to automatically unlock on June 28th, but fans can unlock it early by helping the campaign reach 2,000,000 support points. As we speculated before, we strongly believe this campaign is leading up to the announcement of another Hatsune Miku edition smartphone release. An early news leak by the user 死图P-V家情报收集 on Weibo has revealed that Hatsune Miku V4C preorders will (reportedly) open tomorrow at 680 yuan (~102 USD), along with the release date planned for September 10th. We also get a first look at the packages with the key visual by the illustrator Mame no Moto, which some may be more familiar with as the official illustrator of Snow Miku 2016.

The leak comes just a day before the official press conference planned for tomorrow in Shanghai (August 24th), and so we’re expecting confirmations and official announcements by then. In related news, there’s also the countdown timer on Poppro website to look forward to on August 31st.
