Vocaloid Producer Wowaka Returns With New Hatsune Miku Song “Unknown Mother-Goose”

In one of the most unexpected and surprise returns, Wowaka has appeared after 6 years with a new Hatsune Miku song titled “Unknown Mother-Goose“. Wowaka’s works are widely known among the Vocaloid community, and created songs such as “Rolling Girl“, “Unhappy Refrain“, “World’s End Dance Hall” and “Two-Faced Lovers“.

Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Collaboration Café to Be Held at Niconico Honsha in Tokyo

Dwango Co., Ltd. has announced that Niconico Honsha, an official store for the social video service Niconico operated by Dwango, and Crypton will be opening a collaboration café in Ikebukuro, Tokyo between August 28th~September 11th to celebrate Hatsune Miku’s 10th anniversary.

During this period, the collaboration café will offer their visitors with a plethora of Hatsune Miku inspired foods/drinks, goods and hold workshops inside their store. In addition, the smartphone application “NicoBox” will also take part in the celebration by featuring special pages.

Niconico Shop, a store inside Niconico Honsha that specializes in Niconico related goods, will have a rich lineup of Hatsune Miku merchandises gathered from various stores!

Hatsune Miku Birthday Special Workshop

At the event space, a special workshop will be held with Hyakka Ryoran as MC. Guests include doriko and koyori who are Vocalo-P (Vocaloid songwriters) and the odorite (dancers) Ashibuto Penta. Together they will discuss how Hatsune Miku and Niconico culture developed over the past decade. The workshop will be streamed live on Niconico Live Streaming.

NicoBox and Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Collaboration

Nicobox is an iOS/Android smart phone application used to specifically play music on Niconico Douga. During the collaboration period, NicoBox will have several features – Hatsune Miku songs chosen for the collaboration menu and top Hatsune Miku songs posted on Niconico in the past will be made into a playlist for users to enjoy. On the “ミク曲診断 (Miku Song Diagnosis)” page , users can also look up Miku songs which were uploaded on their birthday.

In addition, on August 31st, Miku’s birthday, NicoBox will be dressed up in a Hatsune Miku theme.

The Racing Miku 2017 figure by Good Smile Company is now available for preorder! Her scale is described as “1/1” scale, however, she is “fairy-sized”. So her canon height of 23cm is actually very tiny!

If you remember or were a contributor of the kickstarter campaign for the Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary advertisement project, you’ll be happy to hear the advertisements are now live at the Samseong station of Gang-Nam, Seoul, Korea!

Image tweets and even videos are now available, showing off the final product of everyone’s contribution. Some screens are dedicated to various Hatsune Miku illustrations, while others show an adorable ApiMiku MMD animation. There’s also a screen scrolling the names of the campaign’s contributors. EDIT: The campaign organizers have notified us that the videos displayed are not final, and 3 new video adverts will be on display next week!

Today’s news update for Hatsune Miku: Magical 2017 was a big one! The exhibition map has been released, event live streaming plans were announced, autograph sessions with HachiojiP and Doriko, goods updates, Magical Mirai 2017 album benefits, and finally the cosplay show participation details! On September 2nd, TOKYO MX plans to stream and hour and a half of live footage of the exhibition, along with the following special guest appearances:

Rules: Please be dressed in your cosplay and arrive at the Creative Stage area prior to 10:30 AM to receive a show participation ticket. In the event many cosplayers join, tickets will be served on a first-come first-served basis. Characters allowed for cosplay will be limited to Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Kaito, Meiko, and Kagamine Rin and Len, or any of their derived characters.
