The Good Smile Racing website has recently opened reservations on their Nendoroid sponsorship packages, which once again cover 4 different tiers. All four tiers will include the Nendoroid, but will also include various other bonuses depending on how much you wish to pledge. Reservations opened on March 14th, and international sponsors are accepted.

Courses A and B are the first two pledge tiers, priced at 7,000 Yen and 10,000 Yen respectively. Course A will include the sponsor membership card (sent soon after purchase), and reserves the 2014 Racing Miku Nendoroid. Course B offers the same items as Course A, but also includes a GSR personal sponsors cap. Click the images below to visit the page for each course.

Courses C and D are the last two pledge tiers, and are priced at a heftier 30,000 Yen and 50,000 Yen. Course C will include all items found in the lower tiers, as well as a portable charger (capacity details unknown), and a blanket. Course D, the final tier, includes all items in the lower tiers, and throws in a GSR windbreaker.

Orders for Nendoroid sponsorship courses will end on May 5th JST, and reservations are expected to ship in October 2014. Please remember that this is a sponsorship pledge, not a typical preorder, so the amount you pledge will be withdrawn immediately upon purchase.

Back in late January, I was contacted by a Japanese Vocaloid producer by the name of “ddh“, who requested to interview me for an article on Nicovideo Blomaga Blog. He was curious to learn more about Vocaloid fans from overseas, and wanted to share his findings with other fans from the Japanese community.

The interview is very in depth and covers a lot of topics, so you’ll find the full English translated interview in the rest of the story. Keep in mind that the following was written by ddh himself. The original Japanese interview can be found here.

J-rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN has released their newest song, 「ray」 featuring Hatsune Miku, which is officially the first music video to record live band members while Hatusne Miku performs at the same time.

Crypton Future Media teamed up with the band to help their dream become a reality, bringing with them the knowledge of past concerts and Isao Tomita’s rendition of Ihatov Symphony. Toy’s Factory joined the team alongside famous producer Kz(livetune) to create the new 3D model of Miku, named “14 Model”, as well as produce the vocal track for the song.

The process of creating the music video was filled with new technical challenges and innovative ideas that broke new grounds in the world of Vocaloid and digital media alike. Hatsune Miku was set to dance on a uniquely designed cylindrical screen with an array of light-filtering screens and wireless transmitting sensors. The unique stage allowed automatic adjustments of the model’s position horizontally and vertically in real time, granting the film crew the ability to view Miku from several different angles while maintaining the focus on Miku.

A special CD + DVD package can be purchased for $28.34 or $31.06 for the limited edition version through Amazon Japan.

The song can also be purchased through iTunes for $2.43 through the Japanese store, but requires a Japanese account.

Some good news for overseas fans: Livestreaming will be available for the MATSURI DA DIVA event on March 9th. What is “MATSURI DA DIVA”? It was an event announced by SEGA to celebrate the launch of Project Diva F 2nd, before it was unfortunately delayed. Despite that setback, they have decided to continue with the event.

Livestream Link: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv170733910
Ticket page: https://secure.live.nicovideo.jp/event/matsuri_da_diva

As for the details, the event will feature the voice actors for all Crypton Vocaloids, as well as the 39’s band from the previous 39’s Giving Day concert events. They will perform live, followed by a mini concert event based somewhat on the popular Magical Mirai concert event from last summer. 6 songs are planned for this part of the event.

Viewing the livestream will require 1000 Nicovideo points, which costs 1,000 Yen (ticket page linked above). Points can be purchased using a credit card, but debit cards do not seem to work. The event can be enjoyed by viewers worldwide, and can also be watched again if you timeshift the event. The doors open starting at 17:30 JST (12:30 AM PST), and the event is scheduled to start at 18:00 JST (1:00 AM PST). Below is a clock of the current time in Japan. Enjoy the show!

In a nearly last minute announcement by Kahotan from Good Smile Company, it was revealed that orders will be reopened for Nendoroid Meiko and Hatsune Miku 2.0 starting March 7th (tomorrow!). It’s been roughly one year since the first batch of orders opened for the Miku 2.0 Nendoroid, and it looks like there is still a strong demand.

Kahotan says to simply check the Good Smile online shop for updates tomorrow. Pricing, order periods and shipment dates are not yet confirmed, but should be announced soon. I will update this article when that information is revealed.

UPDATE: The website has been updated! Here’s the information:

-> Shop link for Hatsune Miku 2.0 Nendoroid <- -> Shop link for Meiko Nendoroid <- Orders for both Nendoroids will be open until March 19th at 9:00 PM JST. Pricing is set at 4011 Yen ($39) for The Miku 2.0 Nendoroid, and 3086 Yen ($30) for Meiko. The expected shipment period for both figures is June 2014. Additionally, if you order the Miku 2.0 Nendoroid from Good Smile Company's online shop, it will include the carrying pouch preorder bonus.
