Some of you may recall hearing about or even playing the “Snow Miku AhR” iOS application that was released by Crypton last February during the 2014 Snow Miku festival. Rather than letting the application feel out of season, Crypton has pushed an update that adds a number of new features, and changes the title to “Hatsune Miku AhR”.

Snow Miku AhR was an augmented reality application that allowed you to take photos anywhere with a cute Snow Miku 3D model, as well as enjoy AR “concerts” through your iOS device by using the provided AR marker. Hatsune Miku AhR expands upon this functionality.

What’s new:

■ New title screen artwork by Nanna.
■ A new shop has been added where you can buy additional models and motions, with more to be added later. Several models are already included for free.
■ A rack storage menu where you can quickly access the models you’ve collected.
■ A new AR marker is now available: http://app.sp.jx.org/armarker/miku_marker.jpg

Hatsune Miku AhR is available for free on all global iTunes stores, and requires devices running iOS 6.1 or greater. Application Page: https://itunes.apple.com/app/snow-miku-ahr/id804642181

EDIT 9/15: Now also available on Android! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.crypton.AhR

One of the largest Vocaloid albums to date, and likely the largest digital release, Vocaloid Parade was a massive collaboration project that brought together the efforts of 35 different producers from all over the world for a total of 36 songs. Despite the album’s massive size, it has a rather tiny price point: Only $9.99 for all 36 songs. It features several vocaloids including Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, GUMI, Yuzuki Yukari and more. Give the crossfade below a listen.

If the album or just a single song tickles your fancy, you can find it available on all global iTunes stores: https://itunes.apple.com/album/bokaronoparedo-feat.-chu-yinmiku/id872541010

Thanks to votes from all Vocaloid community participants that joined the Good Smile Company stream, the winning outfit designs for Snow Miku 2015 and her pet rabbit Yukine have been chosen! The winning illustrators were Taran with 45.7% of the vote for Snow Miku, and Hayuki with 58.6% of the vote for Yukine. These designs will be used in Winter promotions starting late 2014.

Additionally, Good Smile Company has confirmed a Figma for Snow Miku 2015, with more information to come later.

During the stream, GSC also teased a photo of a backside view of a currently unknown and unannounced Hatsune Miku (?) nendoroid design. Any guesses on what it could be?

Good Smile gave their viewers a 360 degree view of a few other figures. These included the sculpture for the 1/7 scale Mikuzukin ver. figure, the 2013 EV Mirai ver. figma, the Deep Sea Girl 1/8 scale figure, and the Type-2020 1/7 scale figure.

The backside view of the Mikuzukin figure and EV Mirai Figma was the most important part of their reveal, along with a photo showing that Miku can wear that helmet that will be included. And thank you to Kahotan for the first official photoshoot picture of the figma!
