It’s not often you see a Hatsune Miku model for MikuMikuDance that is so high quality, you’d think it was official. The 3D modeler Digtrevx from Deviantart has created an MMD model based on Racing Miku 2015 that impressively matches what we’ve seen from official illustrations and figures.

Nendoroid Sakura Mikudayo Preorders Open, Original Mikudayo Re-released

What started out as just a prank is now a reality: Nendoroid Sakura Mikudayo is up for preorder and ready to invade your collection (and eventually the world). Preoders are available starting today until June 3rd at 9:00 PM JST.

“Originally created as an April Fools joke in 2013, the cherry blossomed themed version of Mikudayo, ‘Sakura Mikudayo’ is now actually being released! Her strangely thin twin-tails have been covered in cherry blossom patterns for a cuter look than ever before!
Optional parts include three-color ‘hanami dango’ for enjoying the cherry blossoms, as well as Mikudayo’s favorite food – tuna sushi! The incredible detail of the sushi that shares a pink color with the cherry blossoms has Mikudayo most pleased! Be sure to add the late-blooming Sakura Mikudayo to your collection!”

As a character with a fixed (and somewhat creepy) expression, there are no additional faceplates, but you do get a few food accessories for her to enjoy (and hopefully spare devouring your soul). An exclusive bonus item is available only to those that buy from GSC’s online store: A pop candy (cherry flavor color). Alternate online stores also have the figure available, but without the bonus.

Lastly, the original Mikudayo nendoroid is also back up for grabs, with the same end date for preorders. If you don’t yet have the original, ordering both together is a great way to save on shipping (ordering both also makes you insane for wanting two monsters in your home). Both figures are expected to ship August 2015.

Hatsune Miku Highlights at Niconico Chokaigi 2015

This year’s Niconico Chokaigi took place at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition on April 25th~26th, bringing in several thrilling news, updates and a surprise.

After previous tease and many waiting, the awaited reveal of REAL ACTION HEROES Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- F Honey Whip is finally here. While preorder and release date were not mentioned, we expect further details to arrive at a later date.

Rohto presents in this event with the newest virtual reality collaboration project with Hatsune Miku. Details can be found in our recent article.

Further update on Sakura Mikudayo nendoroid via Dengeki Hobby magazine reveal two accessories: one renowned as her signature item, a sushi, and other being a large-sized dango. Preorders has been confirmed in Niconico Chokaigi to begin on April 30th, while release date will set in July .

Lastly, there’s a surprise announcement where Mikudayo nendoroid will get a resale, which will arrive some time later.

Hatsune Miku V4 Update Details Revealed Via Crypton Future Media’s Sonicwire Blog

Crypton Future Media posted a surprised news update earlier today on the blog of their music software distribution site, Sonicwire. We were finally treated to details of Hatsune Miku’s VOCALOID 4 software development, along with an audio sample showing the “before and after” of improved vowel sounds.

The blog post states the following changes are in development for Hatsune Miku V4:

> E.V.E.C Support
(*About 2~3 variations of voice colors, but specification of Voice Release is not finalized)
> With standard editor, vocals refined for ranges lower than D3, and higher than C4.
> Adjust/refine some phonemes that have some high-fequency loss, or don’t end properly.
> Add more consonants: Consonant continuation, [br] phoneme refine, and many more adjustments.
> Add Growl voice.

A tweet by crypton_wat on twtter stated: “We’re analyzing and making a comparison between Fujita’s voice and Miku’s voice with the same conditions, since there’s no harm in trying it. Vocaloids tend to be worse with lower pitches. So we focused on that and compared the frequency characteristics, etc. Then we’re trying to revise the sounds to make them clearer”.

The first bit of today’s recent news recap brings news that Magical Mirai concert go-ers have been waiting for: The open period for concert ticket orders. Ticket applications will begin on May 2nd at 12:00 PM JST, and close on June 1st at 11:59 PM JST. They can close MUCH sooner if tickets sell out. Ticket prices are 9,000 Yen ($76) for Arena seats, and 8,000 Yen ($68 USD) for S seats, which include entry to the exhibition area. Exhibition-only tickets are 500 Yen ($5).

Some of you may remember Good Smile Company’s April Fools prank from 2013, where they announced a “Sakura” version of their Mikudayo nendoroid. It looks like this prank is now becoming a reality, as its release has been announced by a recent Famiku magazine release. It appears that orders for the nendoroid will open soon, and she’ll ship later this summer.

Good Smile Company’s Kahotan has uploaded a photo gallery of the Racing Miku 2015 nendoroid, which will be available only to personal sponsors of Good Smile Racing for the 2015 racing season. The available accessories and expressions for the nendoroid are quite cute. It also brings a much welcome feature you don’t see often on Nendoroids: Fully articulated arms! Nendoroid course sponsorships will close on May 11th.
