The SEGA feat. Hatsune Miku Project team has just announced on Twitter that they will be featuring a Project Morpheus virtual reality tech demo for the PlayStation 4 at E3 2015 from June 16th~18th, featuring none other than Hatsune Miku. Please note that this is a technology demonstration, and not an announcement of a new game (although these features may be considered for a future game).

The virtual reality headset isn’t due to launch for the PS4 until sometime in the first half of 2016, but Sony is working with partners like SEGA to showcase what the technology can do. The feature example of this tech demo is the ability to enjoy a virtual concert up close and personal, as if you’re actually there.

The tech demo will feature a virtual concert with Miku singing a medley of music composed by Mitchie M, and SEGA promises the sensation and experience of the demo will be breathtaking. As for the future of the Project Diva series, SEGA says to continue looking forward to future announcements.

Beginning June 12th, Hatsune Miku fans were able to place reservations at the Huaihai Road store in Shanghai for 100 white PlayStation 4 units, and 100 white PlayStation Vita units, each with their own unique bonuses. The PS4 bundle was priced at 2899 Yuan ($465 USD), and included a replacement hard drive cover plate with a decorative Miku Expo decal, and a ticket voucher for an “A” section seat at the concert. The Vita bundle included a somewhat simple looking Miku Expo shirt, and cost 1299 Yuan ($208 USD).

As one of the main event sponsors of Hatsune Miku Expo in Shanghai, Sony PlayStation China seems to have underestimated the attraction Hatsune Miku goods have to hardcore fans, and didn’t have nearly enough stock of their event promotion bundles (haven’t we seen something like this happen before?). Despite planning to keep reservations open until June 20th, the bundles have been reported to be completely sold out in the first 24 hours. Honestly, who didn’t see that one coming?

Hopefully Sony will learn from this and stock enough goods in the future. And preferably with goods not as expensive as the Miku Xperia edition phone, which sold poorly for being too costly. Official promotion page: http://www.playstation.com.cn/activities/MIKU.htm

My, it’s been a while since we’ve made a post completely dedicated to music PVs, hasn’t it? In fact, I’d say it’s been… Three years? Time for a quick turnaround, and point out several recent must-hear Hatsune Miku songs from the past few weeks. There’s various styles to suit your fancy, whether you like songs that are cute, cool, or just simply fun to listen to.

Skip99” by 23.exe. This song mixes Dubstep with Electropop music styles, and sounds quite jumpy and fun. We’re sure this track will make you want to skip right along with the beat. English subs are included!

Are You Still A Bit Skittish Today?” by LamazeP. A cute sounding song for sure, and was humorously tagged with the “Miku Addict Holy Ground” tag on Nicovideo. An English subbed version is provided by Descent87.

Gohatto Disco” by Satsuki ga Tenkomori. Composed with a Japan-esque disco style mixed with House, this track definitely sounds cool.

Story Rider” MikuMikuDance PV by Thanks. Featuring a Miku English song composed by Eleki (aka, BIGHEAD), this PV once again catches Thanks’ magical charm with the LAT-Miku type Hatsune Miku model for MikuMikuDance.

A number of Hatsune Miku fans spent one (or more) of some of the most exciting nights of their lives watching the Hatsune Miku Expo performances live in Los Angeles and New York, and cannot wait to enjoy the next live  event, should one happen again. But you can at least relive part of that experience again, thanks to a newly uploaded segment from Miku Expo in New York.

This video features Hatsune Miku performing “Glass Wall” by the producer GuitarHeroPianoZero, and contains likely the same high quality footage you can expect to see on the official concert Blu-Ray, releasing this July (don’t forget to order here!). Enjoy the video below from the official Hatsune Miku YouTube channel!

An official announcement came today announcing a collaboration song from two big idols of Japan: Namie Amuro and Hatsune Miku, under the title “B Who I Want 2 B”. The song is produced by UK underground artist Sophie, with lyrics co-wrote together with Michie M.

At the peak of her popularity, Namie Amuro was widely recognized as “Teen Queen”, “Queen of J-Pop” or even “Japanese Madonna”. Her collaboration with Hatsune Miku was previously held a secret, as the title was released as “B Who I Want 2 B feat. U hum sneak it” (anagram). What followed after were the released preview and commercial with no vocal audio in them, which slowly stirred up curiosity and suspicion among the community. Until today, that is.

The main visual was done by illustrator Shigenori Soejima, who is best known in the community for his works in Persona 3, Persona 4, Catherine and the upcoming Persona 5. The song is part of the album _genic which will soon release on June 10th. For more details on the album please visit the official website: http://dimension-point.jp/amuro/_genic/

Below is the song preview, which was broadcast on TV earlier today (split into two parts):
