dtuhicgnptro9jc3_20121229020229_0500_0500Those of you who followed news back from the Summer Caravan event may remember this model being used in small live performances. Or if you heard news from the NYCC info panel, you may know that Crypton had plans to make this particular model publicly available.

Well, it’s finally here! Named “Appearance Miku”, the model is freely available from Piapro. You will need a registered piapro account to download it. The file will download as a “.x” filetype, which you will need to manually rename back to “.zip” to extract the model.

The model works in both MikuMikuDance and MikuMikuMoving, and follows Piapro’s new creative commons license.

The model is versatile and also quite cute in appearance. Below is a short demo video.

I imagine that quite a few producers will have fun using this one.

For veterans of past Voca Nico night performances, you’ll be happy to hear that there’s another event scheduled for February 2nd at 18:00 JST. This is a pretty early announcement, so make sure to use this time to plan ahead.

For anyone who has never seen or heard of Voca Nico Night before, it’s a live DJ event where many notable Vocaloid producers come together and perform various tracks for a live audience, even online.

The stream is available for free viewing, although there is a risk of being kicked under high server load if you’re a free user. If you’d prefer to watch it at a later time, to avoid server load or simply not being able to watch it when it airs, you can reserve a time-shift slot.

Today is December 27th, which means today marks the 5 year milestone since the release of Kagamine Rin and Len’s software. The second release in Crypton’s Vocaloid2 series of products, they’ve since had an Act 2 release (to fix some quality issues), an Append release, and now an upcoming V3 release.

To celebrate this event, Crypton has released a collection of albums on Karent by 11 different producers. Happy anniversary to the blond haired twins!

“Mikumentary” is a documentary project that has been in the works for some time now, and was created by Tara Knight along with many interviewees and Piapro artists. The first episode is titled “Everybody’s Voice / Icon”, and the next video is due to be released next month.

Watch it for yourself and decide what you think of it.

Yep, you read the title correctly: SEGA has opened up a poll to international players of their Project Diva series of games to vote on the song that they would like remade for Project Diva F on Vita and PS3. By “remake”, they mean that they will take songs used in one of the previous three Project Diva games for PSP and create all new PVs with them.

The poll has opened starting today, and will run until January 15th. There are some rules to this poll, so be sure to read very carefully:

• Pick ONE song from the available list of the three previous games. If you are unsure of the names in Japanese, you can find out by using the game track lists from here, here and here.
• You may vote every day, but only once per day.
• SEGA will then count the votes, and decide when and how the PVs will be created at a later date.

To cast your vote, simply go to the “Project Diva featured songs election” voting page. Then choose the song you would like remade from the list. At the bottom, you are required to fill out several fields. This is very important, because we want SEGA to know where their fans are located!

Fill out the fields like so…

Once you are finished, submit your vote! Don’t forget to bookmark the page and return to vote again every day until January 15th. So… Which song do you want to see returned to the series?
